SICK CHILD POLICY

No child should be brought to the daycare if the child is sick with diarrhea, vomiting, fever (over 100), or any other contagious disease that would affect the other children. I am required by law to file a completed and current health form signed by a physician. This form will be provided to you and must be filled out and returned to the daycare provider within two weeks of the starting date. I should be informed of any changes to your child's general health. If any medications or prescriptions need to be dispensed you will be responsible for administering the first dosage and I will administer additional dosages, as directed, subject to the following:

1.   Non-Prescription Medicines: Will not be given unless specifically authorized by the parent in writing. The note must specify the dose and time to be given.

2.  Prescription Medicines: Will be given only if it is contained in the presciption bottle labeled appropriately accompanied by a note from the parent stating when the last dose was given, when the next dose should be given and what the proper dosage is.

The parent will be notified immediately if your child becomes ill. Depending on the nature of the illness and the disposition of the child, I will decide upon the best course of action that will be in the best interest of the child as well as the other children in the daycare.
